Eczema
Atopic Dermatitis, commonly referred to as eczema, is a disorder in skin barrier function that affects 10-20% of children and 1-3% of adults. Eczema causes dry, sensitive skin that often flares causing redness and intense itching.
Up to 80% of children with eczema will go on to develop asthma and/or allergic rhinitis.
There is no cure for eczema but there are many available treatments. The goal is to reduce the frequency of flares and lessen the severity. The allergists at Highland Park Allergy and Asthma Specialists can help identify any possible triggers and determine a plan that works best for you and your family’s life.
