Contact Allergy

Contact allergy is another allergic condition that affects the skin. The skin will develop a red, itchy rash sometimes with blisters when it comes in contact with an allergen or an irritant.

The most common example of a contact allergy is poison ivy. Nickel is also a common contact allergen. There are several known contact allergens. Often, one can become allergic to common ingredients in personal hygiene products.

The allergists at Highland Park Allergy and Asthma Specialists can help determine the cause of the rash and best treatment course.
